Jodi Weinstein Mullen, PhD LMHC NCC RPT-S
Jodi Mullen is the director of Integrative Counseling Services, PLLC and an Associate Professor at the State University of New York College at Oswego, School of Education, Counseling and Psychological Services Department. She is the coordinator of the Mental Health Counseling Program and the Graduate Certificate Program in Play Therapy. Dr. Mullen teaches courses in play therapy, counseling theory, psychopathology, professional issues and ethics, and a variety of clinical training courses. She is credentialed as a Nationally Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. She is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State.
Her play therapy certifications include that of Registered Play Therapist – Supervisor (RPT-S) through the Association for Play Therapy and Certified Play Therapist (CCPT-S) through the National Institute for Relationship Enhancement (NIRE).
Dr. Mullen serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Play Therapy and is the clinical editor for Play Therapy magazine (APT publications). She is also on the Board of Directors for Friends of Oswego County Hospice Inc. as well as the Children’s Protection Advisory Board.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Mullen specializes in working with children and adolescents. Additionally, she works with adults who have experienced loss. She is the author, co-author, or co-editor of several books including: Counseling Children & Adolescents through Grief & Loss (2006), Play Therapy Basic Training: A Guide to Learning and Living Child-Centered Play Therapy Philosophy (2007), Supervision Can be Playful: Techniques for Child and Play Therapist Supervisors (2008), and Counseling Children: A Core Issues Approach (2011). She is also the author of several book chapters and other publications related to helping counselors work more effectively with children, those who have experienced grief and loss, play therapy, and supervision. She is a frequent presenter on the aforementioned topics locally, nationally, and internationally.

June Rickli, MS LMHC CCPT-S RPT
June M. Rickli is the Assistant Director at Integrative Counseling Services, PLLC in Oswego, New York. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Oswego. She is credentialed as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) through the Association for Play Therapy, and as a Child Centered Play Therapist (CCPT) and Child Centered Play Therapist Supervisor (CCPT-S) through the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement (NIRE). She has presented workshops on play therapy throughout New York State. In addition to presenting, she has also taught at the graduate level about various play therapy topics. At Integrative Counseling Services, June provides play therapy services to children and counseling services to adults and adolescents, and provides play therapy supervision. She is responsible for supervision and management of graduate interns, as well as intake coordination and planning and coordination of practice workshops and seminars.

Rikki L. Ziegen, MS/CAS CCPT
Rikki is the Community Relations Coordinator at Integrative Counseling Services, PLLC., as well as a Mental Health Counselor for individuals of all ages. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from the State University of New York at Oswego. Additionally, she has received her Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling Services and a Play Therapy certificate. Rikki has obtained her credentials as a Child-Centered Play Therapist (CCPT) through the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement (NIRE). She is working toward obtaining her licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) through the state of New York. As the Community Relations Coordinator, Rikki acts as a liaison with the community to make them aware of the services that we have to offer, counsels individuals, coordinates and prepares for workshops and seminars, as well as performs administrative duties.
Rikki is also passionate about teaching dance for children and adolescents at Lisa's Centre of Dance Artistry. She aspires to be a credentialed dance therapist, in hopes to incorporate both of her passions in life.

Ashley Lawton, MS CCPT
Ashley Lawton, MS, CCPT is the Clinical Coordinator at Integrative Counseling Services. She is also the Mental Health Consultant for Oswego County Head Start. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling at the State University of New York at Oswego. She is working towards obtaining her licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) through the state of New York and she is credentialed as a Child-Centered Play Therapist (CCPT) through the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement (NIRE). Ashley provides counseling services to adolescents and young adults, as well as play therapy to children. Her duties as Clinical Coordinator include liaison to the sub- contracted counselors, assisting with the coordination of intakes, supervision of undergraduate interns, and maintaining organizational aspects.

Debbie Denery - Office Manager
Debbie is currently going on twenty years as an Office Manager; She started over twenty years ago in the medical field as a file clerk. Debbie's expertise in medical billing along with the ability to communicate well with patients and clients has allowed her to travel to such places as Alaska and Florida with physicians to set up new offices and the training of new staff.
For five years Debbie was a member of the Professional Association of Office Managers, and traveled to many seminars to improve her managerial skills. A few other skills she has are accounting, AP/AR along with knowledge of insurance procedures. Debbie has had two years of training with a surgeon assisting him in the operating room and with office surgeries.
She has lived in the Oswego area all of her life and has two wonderful grown children and three of the most precious grandchildren you could ever ask for. Currently, Debbie is also a volunteer Firefighter/EMT and has enjoyed this for over twenty years.

Peter R. Breggin, MD
Peter R. Breggin, MD is a psychiatrist and expert in clinical psychopharmacology with a practice in Ithaca, New York where he treats individuals, couples and families with children. Because of his reform work, he has been called “The Conscience of Psychiatry.” A former teaching fellow at Harvard Medical School and former full-time consultant in mental health and education at NIMH, he has written dozens of scientific articles and more than twenty books, including the bestsellers Toxic Psychiatry and Talking Back to Prozac. His two most recent books are Brain-Disabling Treatments in Psychiatry: Drugs, Electroshock and the Psychopharmaceutical Complex, Second Edition (2008) and now in paperback Medication Madness: The Role of Psychiatric Drugs in Cases of Violence, Suicide and Crime (2008). With his wife Ginger, he recently founded the Center for the Study of Empathic Therapy, Education and Living (www.empathictherapy.com).
Dr. Breggin has his own weekly radio show and frequently appears on radio and television as an expert in psychiatry including shows like 60 Minutes, Oprah, Larry King Live, Hannity, and the O’Reilly Factor. In 2010 he testified before the House of Representatives Veterans Affairs Committee on the hazards of prescribing psychiatric drugs to active duty soldiers and also addressed the annual International Military and Civilian Combat Stress Conference in Los Angeles on psychiatric drugs and better approaches to stress in the military.
Dr. Breggin has served as a medical expert in criminal and civil cases involving psychiatric drugs. He has taught at Johns Hopkins University and George Mason University and currently teaches at SUNY Oswego in the Department of Counseling. Kyle Dzintars, MS CCPT
Kyle Dzintars is the Media Coordinator for Integrative Counseling Services, PLLC and
works as a Mental Health Counselor for various age groups. He is currently working to become
a certified Child-Centered Play Therapist and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state
of New York. He has been working at Integrative Counseling Services since January of 2010.
Kyle began teaching at SUNY Oswego as part of his graduate work in 2009 and, as of 2011,
teaches 2 courses of English 101, a college writing course, as an adjunct professor.
Kyle received his Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, concentrating on poetry studies
and poetry writing at SUNY Oswego. He began the Master’s program in English at SUNY Oswego
in the fall of 2008 and is near completion as he finishes up his Master’s Thesis. His thesis
is focused on post-apartheid South Africa and the use of Narrative Therapy techniques by an
organization called the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. He is aiming to have his M.A.
in English by the beginning of 2012. Also, Kyle completed his Master’s degree in Mental
Health Counseling at SUNY Oswego in the summer of 2011. He earned a certificate for the Play
Therapy Program along with his M.S.
In his free time, Kyle enjoys being active, reading, and watching movies. He is passionate
about music and often creates various types of music. He loves writing and uses it often in
his daily life. He is originally from Albany, New York and has lived in Oswego since 2004.
Sara Boogaard, MS/CAS LMHC RPT CCPT-S - Educational Consult
Sara Febrey Boogaard is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She currently serves as a school psychologist working with ages 2 years through 6th grade. She is also an adjunct instructor for SUNY Oswego teaching graduate level courses in the Counseling and Psychological Services Department.
Sara received her Bachelor Degree from the University of Rochester in Psychology and Brain and Cognitive Science. She received her Master’s Degree and Certificate of Advanced Study from SUNY Oswego in School Psychology. Sara is credentialed as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) through the Association for Play Therapy, a Child Centered Play Therapist (CCPT) and as a Child Centered Play Therapist Supervisor (CCPT-S) through the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement (NIRE).
In the past Sara has been an independent contractor for ICS providing mental health counseling and supervision services. She has also served as a Mental Health Consultant for Oswego County Head Start and worked as a Habilitation Specialist for the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.
Sara has extensive experience in assessment, consultation and counseling. She understands and can navigate the often complicated special education process in the NYS public school system.

Jennifer Kinzie, MS LMHC
Jennifer Kinzie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing therapy to individuals (age 12 +),
couples and families in both the Cicero and Oswego offices. Jennifer obtained a Bachelor of Arts
in Psychology in 2001 and a Master of Science in Community Counseling and Human Services in
2005 from SUNY Oswego and has been providing services at Integrative Counseling Services since
January 2006.
Jennifer has worked in the field as a Group Home Shift Supervisor, Care Coordinator, Advocate,
Program Director, and most recently was brought on staff as a Visiting Instructor at Cazenovia
College. Jennifer has worked with various systems including the Offices of Persons With
Developmental Disabilities, Children and Family Services, Department of Social Service, Juvenile
Justice, and Mental Health.
Jennifer is a holistic, trauma-informed, motivational therapist that specializes in working with
adolescent’s couples and families, particularly those who are experiencing significant distress due
to communication barriers and/or trauma/loss. Jennifer provides Youth, Family, and Group Therapy,
Parent Consulting and Psychosocial Education.

Jo Ann Smegelsky, MS LMHC CCPT
Jo Ann Smegelsky, MS LMHC CPT graduated from SUNY Oswego in August 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and in December 2003 with a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services. Jo Ann obtained her permanent certification as a school counselor in September 2008, Child Centered Play Therapist certification in February 2009 and NYS Mental Health Counselor Licensure in April 2010. She has counseled children and adolescents struggling with social, emotional and behavioral issues in the home and school settings, as well as children who have experienced trauma to include domestic violence and abuse, grief and loss and adjustment difficulties. In addition, Jo Ann has experience working with run away and homeless youth, adolescents in foster care and children with special needs to include the Deaf and hard of hearing (Jo Ann has education and training in American Sign Language and Deaf Culture). Jo Ann stays current in her profession through participation in professional development conferences and activities and is a member of the American Counseling Association and Association for Play Therapy.

Melissa Baker, MS
Melissa completed her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Oswego in December of 2009. She has her limited permit and is working towards becoming a licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State. Melissa is in the process of becoming a certified play therapist as well. Melissa provides play therapy services to children and counseling services to adults and adolescents.
Melissa is also currently working for Cayuga Home for Children as a Functional Family Therapist.

Virginia Boak Glahn, MS LMHC
Virginia Boak Glahn is a licensed mental health counselor with a Master’s Degree in Counseling and a
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She provides counseling to adults, adolescents, couples and families,
related to a wide range of problems. Virginia has worked in the field of counseling and human services
for twenty years. Her previous experience includes: in and out-patient adult psychiatric treatment,
group counseling, case management, and counseling for adolescents, families and those in foster care.
Virginia’s specific areas of interest in counseling are: depression, anxiety, domestic violence, women’s
issues, relational problems, anger management, spirituality and natural remedies. Virginia emphasizes
a holistic approach in counseling, drawing from many sources, to address all aspects of an individual’s
well-being.

Tiffany McLallen, MS CCPT LMHC
Tiffany is a graduate from Mohawk Valley Community College, SUNY Institute of Technology and SUNY Oswego. She currently holds a Limited Permit in Mental Health Counseling and is working towards certification in Child Centered Play Therapy. She is a Clinical Therapist in the North Country as well as an Independent Contractor for Integrative Counseling Services, Inc. She has 15 years of experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities and at-risk youth both nationally and internationally.

Malissa Monaghan, MS LMHC CCPT
Malissa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a permanently Certified School Counselor in the state of New York. She is credentialed as a Child-Centered Play Therapist (CCPT) through the National Institute for Relationship Enhancement (NIRE). Malissa received her Masters in Counseling Services from SUNY Oswego in 2002. Her undergraduate studies were completed at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2000.
Malissa is also in training to become a Supervisor and earn her credentials as a Child-Centered Play Therapist Supervisor (CCPT-S) through the National Institute for Relationship Enhancement (NIRE).
Malissa has been working in the counseling field for the past 11 years. She has worked in various schools and agencies. Malissa currently works as an Independent Contractor, counseling children, adolescents and families at Integrative Counseling Services, PLLC in the Cicero Office.
Malissa works with children, adolescents and families on a wide array of issues. Her areas of interest and expertise are child-centered play therapy, Autism Spectrum Disorders, behavior disorders, divorce and separation, grief and loss, social skills, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and collaborating and consulting with parents, teachers and community organizations.

Geoff Baer, MS
Geoff Baer is one of the newest therapist to join us, coming to us with almost 30 years in clinical work in many agency and school settings. Geoff holds dual Masters degrees in Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. He was licensed as a C.A.S.A.C. in 1989 and has studied at Harvard’s School of Medicine in Substance Abuse issues, Psychoanalysis and Adolescent issues. Geoff also had the opportunity to study with Dr. Lois Balladore’ while living on Cape Cod, a renowned protégé’ of Anna Freud.
Geoff’s holistic, down-to-earth approach is balanced with a direct, yet compassionate style. He loves all outdoor activities especially the Ocean, second only to his love of family; including his wife and three sons.

Christy Johnson, ABD LMHC NCC RPT CCPT
Christy Johnson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of New York, as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). Additionally, she is credentialed as both a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) through the Association for Play Therapy (APT) and a Certified Child-Centered Play Therapist (CCPT) through the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement (NIRE).
Christy received both her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (1999) and Master’s Degree in Human Services/Counseling (2002) from SUNY Oswego. She is currently enrolled in the Psychology PhD Educational Track program at Walden University, where she is accredited as an ABD (All But Dissertation). She has been employed at Cayuga Community College since 2004 where she has been serving as an academic advisor, the advisor for the Student Veteran’s Club, and an adjunct instructor for the Behavioral Sciences Division. In addition, she has previously taught courses at SUNY Oswego for the Psychology Department, as well as a served as a volunteer assistant instructor for an introductory level play therapy course. She specializes in both psychology and sociology at the higher education level.
Christy has been working in the counseling and psychology profession since 2000, with experience serving adults, adolescents, and children. Clientele has ranged from at-risk youth, survivors of assault, support groups, and family interventions, as well as adults diagnosed with mental retardation/developmental disabilities (MR/DD) and/or significant mental health issues. She is the recipient of the 2006 Oswego County Business Forty Under Forty Award, the 2006 People’s Choice Award (Walden University), and the 2005 Who’s Who Among Professionals Award. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association of Oswego County, as well as sits on the fundraising committee for further opportunities to decrease the stigma associated with mental illness. Christy is affiliated with numerous professional affiliations including the Association for Play Therapy (APT), the New York State Association for Play Therapy (NYAPT), the American Psychological Association (APA), the American Counseling Association (ACA), the New York Mental Health Counselors Association (NYMHCA), the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement (NIRE), the North Atlantic Regional Association of Counselor Education & Supervision (NARACES), the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), Play Therapy International, and Young Professionals Voice.
Christy also serves as a Mental Health Disaster Responder in Oswego County where she provides critical incident responding and counseling as needed. She specializes in child-centered play therapy, sexuality and gender issues, and anxiety and affective disorders among children, adolescents, and adults.

Eric Bresee
Eric Bresee, graduated from SUNY Oswego with his MS in Human Services Counseling. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the State of NY. In addition to being a Mental Health Counselor Eric is the director of Youth and Family Services for Oswego County Opportunities Inc. Eric has worked with a wide range of populations varying from adults with disabilities to runaway and homeless youth. Eric facilitates the Oswego County Runaway and Homeless Youth Task Force, sits on the Work Force Development Board’s Youth Council and is a member of the Empire State Coalition Board of Directors. Additionally, Eric is a graduate of Leadership Oswego County, was named one of the County’s top 40 under 40 professionals, has been recognized as an OCO Outstanding Employee and Outstanding Leader and is a member of the National Honor Society Phi Kappa Phi. He also has served in many civil service organizations.

Nikki Savas, MS/CAS NCC LMHC
Nikki is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of New York, a Nationally Certified
Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), and is provisionally
certified as a School Counselor through the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
Additionally, she is currently working on completing her certification as a Child-Centered Play
Therapist (CCPT) through the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement (NIRE), and is beginning
the certification process towards becoming a Certified EMDR therapist through the Eye-movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA). Nikki received her Bachelors
degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Human Services/Community Counseling, and a Certificate of
Advanced Study in Counseling Services/School Counseling, from SUNY Oswego. Nikki has been with
Integrative Counseling Services since 2006, where she provides counseling services to adolescents, and
play therapy to children. Nikki has also been employed as a therapist for Liberty Resources Child and
Family Services division, since 2008. At Liberty Resources, she provides home based therapeutic services
for the Kinship Caregiver Program, as well as the Bridges to Permanency Program.

Juanita Mitchell, MS/CAS LMHC CPT
Juanita Mitchell is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and permanently Certified
School Counselor in the State of New York. She is also a Certified Play Therapist
through the National Institute for Relationship Enhancement (NIRE) and currently in
training to earn the credential to become a Supervisor in Child-Centered Play Therapy
(CCPT-S) through NIRE.
Juanita currently works part-time as an Independent Contractor at Integrative Counseling
Services, PLLC in the Cicero Office. She has also been self-employed and seeing clients
in her Fayetteville office since 2008 (http://juanitamitchell.com).
She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from SUNY Oswego and received both
her Masters degree and CAS from Syracuse University in School Counseling.
Juanita has been working in the field of counseling and human services since 1990. Her
experiences have included working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in
a variety of settings that include school, group homes, a psychiatric emergency room
(CPEP), and other community settings. She has worked with individuals identified with
learning and physical challenges, as well as, others struggling with social, emotional, and
behavioral challenges. Other special interests have included previously presenting at the
foster and adoptive classes through the Onondaga County Department of Social services
and facilitating groups for conflict resolution and mediation (as a trained Mediator).
Juanita has a collaborative style where she involves parents and/or other significant
players, whenever possible, while working through a wide array of life issues. Her
areas of interest and expertise include child-centered play therapy, incorporation of the
Nurtured Heart Approach for difficult children through the coaching of parents and
providers, divorce and separation, grief and loss, social skills, self-esteem, anxiety,
depression, and working with foster/adoptive families around issues related to adoption/
foster care.
She has a sincere commitment to honoring the individual differences of her clients,
and identifying strengths. Additionally, Juanita stays current in her profession through
attending professional development conferences, reading professional journal articles and
books, and participation in activities as a member of the Association for Play Therapy.

Michael Mullen, MS LMHC
Michael Mullen has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York for 7 years. Mr. Mullen is also an Academic Planning Counselor for the Educational Opportunity Program in the Office of Learning Services at SUNY Oswego and is the President and Director of Montario Point Professional Services. He has been a presenter, consultant and personal/professional coach for over 12 years. His areas of expertise are managing and coaching, team building, interpersonal communication, motivation, personal strategic planning and public speaking/presenting.
Mr. Mullen is also an Adjunct Professor at SUNY Oswego. He teaches for the Counseling and Psychological Services Department. He teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses. Mr. Mullen has been coaching basketball since 1986, at the youth, high school and college level. He has his Master's Degree in Human Services Counseling from SUNY Oswego and his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Syracuse University.

Jessica Connors, MS, CCPT - Coordinator-Cicero Office
Jessica obtained her Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling at SUNY Oswego In May 2011. In addition, she is a Child-Centered Play Therapist (CCPT) through the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement. Jessica obtained her Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Hamilton College in 2002 and had been working in the educational field prior to resuming her education at Oswego. As Coordinator of the Cicero office, Jessica is responsible for managing intakes, overseeing operations, and community networking.

Laura Shaw, MS
Laura is a permanently certified K-12 School Counselor who has over 7 years experience in the education
and counseling fields. She received her Master’s degree from C.W. Post at Long Island University and
has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Cortland. Laura currently works as a Mental
Health Specialist for Head Start and Early Head Start children and families residing in Onondaga County.
In addition to providing counseling services to young children and their families, she also provides
support and assistance to the teachers and/or caregivers within the agency. Laura is currently in the
process of pursuing her New York State license for mental health counseling and certification in Child-
Centered Play Therapy (CCPT). Laura has worked with children of all ages in an array of settings but her
primary passion is for working with young children and their families in a therapeutic capacity.

Jahleh Mohammadi received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Binghamton University in May of 2010 and is currently working on her Masters of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from the State University of New York at Oswego. Additionally, she is working toward a Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling Services, a Play Therapy certificate, and obtaining her credentials as a Child-Centered Play Therapist (CCPT) through the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement (NIRE).
